“More than Jews have kept Shabbat, Shabbat has kept the Jews.”
– Ahad Ha’am
Join us for Shabbat, the centerpiece of Jewish life. A time to rest, celebrate and rejuvenate with family, friends and community. Experience the warmth and tradition weekly at L’Chaim Center. Newcomers are ALWAYS welcome.
During COVID-19, we are all home celebrating the gift of Shabbat and truly enjoying the powerful difference of this day from all other days of the week that seem to run together. We hope to be together soon to welcome the Sabbath, daven together and celebrate with song and Kiddush.
FRIDAY NIGHT: The pre-Shabbat celebration starts with traditional cholent, kugel and conversation an hour before sundown, when our services begin. Make a L’Chaim and welcome the Sabbath with Kabbalat Shabbat, a traditional service filled with song and much joy.
SATURDAY: Traditional Shabbat services begin at 9:15am and include an optional class with Ali on the weekly Torah portion that anchors your week ahead. Kiddush lunch follows at around 11:30am and it is full of good food and intelligent conversation with a welcoming community.
SHABBAT MORNING SCHEDULE:
- 9:15 AM Shabbat Services led by Rabbi David
- 10:45 AM Life Lessons for the Week to Come – An optional class with Ali
- 11:30 AM Kiddush Lunch
Join us for any part of our Shabbat celebration each week or stay for the entire time. We hope to see you soon.
