Chag Purim Sameach!

What is Purim?

Purim celebrates the salvation of the Jewish people in ancient Persia, as told in the Book of Esther (Megillat Esther).

The evil Haman, advisor to King Achashverosh, plotted to destroy all the Jews. Through the courage of Queen Esther and the wisdom of her uncle Mordechai, the plot was foiled and the Jewish people were saved.

Purim is the most joyous holiday on the Jewish calendar — a day of costumes, celebration, giving gifts of food to friends, and charity to those in need.
