A Life Ends.
A Soul Does Not.

Judaism teaches that the soul is eternal. Yizkor gives us one sacred moment each year to stop, say their names, and remember the people who shaped us.

Who will you remember this Yom Kippur?

🕯️ Names for this year's book are due Sunday, September 20

What is Yizkor

To remember is to keep them close

Yizkor means simply: remember. On Yom Kippur, Jews around the world pause together to remember those who are no longer physically with us — their names, their lives, and everything they gave us.

Their voices may be quiet. Their souls are not. The love they gave, the values they taught, the family they helped create — all of it still lives in us.

By long tradition, we remember with tzedakah — a gift of goodness given in their memory, so that their life keeps creating light in this world even now.

A permanent place in our Jewish home

Some names deserve a permanent place

"The Book remembers them this year. The Memorial Board keeps their name — and a light beside it — in our home for generations."

Dedicate an engraved plaque on L'Chaim Center's Memorial Board. Their name becomes a permanent part of our Jewish home — and a light is kindled beside it during the month of their yahrzeit, throughout the High Holidays, and on every festival. Not only remembered on Yom Kippur, but all year long.

Optional · just for us

Something you never want forgotten

"He never let anyone leave his Shabbat table hungry."

Jewish tradition ties remembrance to tzedakah — we bring goodness into the world in the merit of those who no longer can. Thank you for letting their memory do exactly that.
