A unique opportunity for fathers and sons! This class is designed for 6th and 7th grade boys and their fathers to come together to learn, laugh and celebrate while building the core values associated with becoming a Bar Mitzvah. Join Rabbi David for six impactful workshops you won’t forget.

  • January 16th: Bar Mitzvah: What it’s all about
    Learn what it means to be a true Jewish leader. Woodwork a homemade tzedakah box and bring home the value of giving.
  • February 20th: The Making of a Mensch
    Gratitude and Respect: A real talk about the things that really matter. Meet a Sofer (scribe) and experience the art of teffilin and mezuzah making.
  • The Gift of Giving: Date TDB
    Volunteer at The Chicago Chesed Fund to learn what it means to give with sensitivity and dignity
  • Special Trip to the Illinois Holocaust Museum: Date TBD
    Experience the powerful Twinning Program and how your Bar Mitzvah can honor a boy who was unable to become a Bar Mitzvah
  • May 21st: Popcorn, Pizza and Israel
    Watch a short Israeli film followed by an insightful discussion and discover how you can build knowledge and stand up for Israel.
  • 6/12/2020: Shabbat Family Dinner with Rabbi David and Ali
    Relax, eat and enjoy Shabbat: The Secret of Jewish Survival

For 6th and 7th grade boys and their fathers. Sessions meet on Thursday nights from 7:00 – 9:00 pm (except special events) culminating with a Friday night Shabbat dinner.
