Purim

Expect the unexpected at a Purim celebration. People let loose, dress in costumes, drink alcohol (adults only!) and eat a festive meal. The celebration is full of mitzvahs that include the giving of food (shalach manot), gifts to the poor and the reading of the Megillah, not once but twice. Purim celebrates the deliverance of the Jewish people from the wicked Haman in the days of Queen Esther.
